About Me

Pin It Now!

In a nutshell, I'm a desert-dwelling, homeschool mom who loves to devour fiction and chocolate. If you want to know more than that, feel free to keep on reading! ;)

I started my first blog (formerly known as Autumnfawn Lane) in February of 2006 mostly as a replacement for scrapbooking. Life just got too busy with three kids who were 6, 4, and 8 months at the time. Homeschooling, along with all of my other SAHM duties, took a huge chunk of my time, and I didn't have the energy to keep up with scrapbooking every picture and detail of our lives.

Even though I was a little leery of blogging my life on the internet, I loved the idea that I could virtually share our lives without the constant mess of albums, paper, and stickers spread out all over my room. As a bonus, my AZ family would get to see pictures of the kids on a regular basis. (At the time our family lived in TN.)

I quickly found that blogging was much to my liking. Not only could I "scrapbook," but I could write about all sorts of other stuff, too. Blogging satisfied my intense passion for writing and also connected me with other moms all across the globe. It was fun making cyber friends and writing about all things mom life.

Little did I know that this blogging venture would lead me to become a member of the Schoolhouse Review Crew in which I had the privilege of reviewing all sorts of products, mostly those that pertained to homeschooling in some way, shape, or form. (As of 2015, I am taking a break from reviewing for the Schoolhouse Review Crew.)

I've been married to my amazing, husband for 23 years, and we've been blessed with three awesome kids - 2 boys (20 and 18) and 1 girl (14). We've made our home in the Arizona desert for the past 13 years, but before that I lived out my days as a southern girl near Memphis, TN for about 21 years.

I spend my days homeschooling my children, reviewing wonderful products, and carrying out the dozens of typical stay-at-home-mom tasks. On my blog I love to chronicle my family's life, store my thoughts, share my faith, reminisce days gone by, compile yummy recipes, reveal nifty tips, talk about topics relating to health, and write about all things home school. For fun I love to read fiction, bake delicious desserts, drink Peach Bai, and eat chocolate! :)

* Currently, I'm in a new season of life with 2 boys in college and my daughter taking high school classes online. I'm not blogging much but am using my free time to write books for children. Feel free to visit me on Instagram where I am most active these days.

And as with everything in my life, including blogging, I do it all for the glory of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Thanks for stopping by!

Dear Brandi Raae,

I am a Paediatric Surgery Registrar in London, UK. I am writing the chapter of a book for Paediatric Surgeons on hernias, including epigastric hernias. I am looking for a photograph of a child with an epigastric hernia to include in the book. I was wondering if you'd be kind enough to permit me to use the photograph of your daughter posted on your blog. I can assure you that it will help other children like her in the future, through helping to train future surgeons. If you would consider this then I shall email you details of the book and myself and answer any questions that you have. Thank you very much for your time and consideration. Kind regards, Dr Wright

Glad that you decided to continue blogging. I visit your blog often. I also had trouble with Wordpress, so I decided to use Google Blogger. I'm a blogging mom too, but my passion is photography.
